- Personal Business Philosophy
- My personal business philosophy is "If you are going to do something, do it well!". I resist
procrastination but try to temper this with the patience to be prepared, so that when I do
something, I'll only have to do it once to achieve the best result.
- Business Achievements
- I finished school with a business education and went on to write for radio. I was on the ground
floor when Fundy Cable entered our city, worked in a multi-business head office until my decision
to stay home and raise my children. I entered the workforce again in '92 earning my credentials
as a Registered Fitness Leader. I've taught in many of the fitness organizations, community
college, various schools and outreach areas. I've been recognized for my services by the
"Saint John Y.M.Y.W.C.A." and "Saint John Cruise".
- Personal Information
- I'm formerly from the Annapolis Valley, N.S. and now reside in Rothesay. I love to run and completed the New York Marathon in '94 and our own
Festival by the Sea Marathon in '95. Now my running is just for pleasure.
- Community Involvement
- I chaired and represented our area in the "Bald Hill" dispute. I've done some public speaking
in school assemblies and classrooms. I've worked with youth groups and been a leader in Summer
camps.
Presently a Board Member of the Saint John YM/YWCA
- Special Interests
- I love music of almost any kind and my fitness work doubles as a hobby. I love to
play volleyball or out on the water somewhere in the fresh air.on the weekends. I run at least three times a week and to relax I go
canoeing.
- Other Items of Interest
- In the past I've been involved as a tour guide for the opening of "Harbour
Station", a volunteer for the arrival of the Tall Ships in '95 and the opening for
Sand and Slip beach volleyball, where I designed some promotional t-shirts etc.
When there is something going on in our city, I am not content to just watch. I
want to be involved!
